The ALANA Network
The ALANA Network fosters self-government among members of the African-, Latino/Hispanic-, Asian-, and Native-American student community at Assumption College, and promotes activities and events of interest to the community. We work collaboratively with a variety of organizations, clubs, and departments on campus, including Residential Life, Campus Ministry, AC Allies, Reach Out Center, Campus Activities Board, Le Provocateur, Student Government Association, and others.

In addition, we honor a faculty member each year with the ALANA Diversity Award, given to recognize those who demonstrate sensitivity to diversity issues, a commitment to treating all students fairly, and incorporating different cultural perspectives into his or her course material. Past winners include Richard Gendron (2006), Steve Farough (2007), Jeanne McNett (2008), Alan Bruehl (2009), Susan Scully-Hill (2010) and Carol Harvey (2011).

We also participate in the annual Crossing Boundaries conference sponsored by the ALANA Consortium Support Network, which enables us to share information and resources with ALANA groups at other Worcester Consortium schools.
