While the My.Assumption Campus Portal is primarily used for faculty and staff resources, we are accumulating a running list of helpful links, tips, and resources that may be useful to these audiences.

Faculty, Staff, and Administrator Email System Help

Our current email environment is a version of Microsoft Exchange, which Microsoft is not planning to support after 2011. We have been planning to upgrade the system for nine months and expect to complete it over the Christmas holiday. We will move email accounts to the new environment in January. After your account has been moved, you will see a new, improved and faster Houndmail system.

Mobile Devices: All up to date mobile devices that support Microsoft Exchange will work with our email system.  All devices running iOS, Android, and Blackberry operating systems will work on our email system.

The Assumption College Portal (My.Assumption.edu)

The campus portal ("My.Assumption.edu") is accessed by the address my.assumption.edu as well as from the link on the Assumption College Homepage. The Portal can be accessed both on campus and off campus. Your portal login username is either your email username preceded by "assumptionnt\" without "@assumption.edu.", or username@assumption.edu.

For instance, the username for a faculty/staff member named John Doe might look like this:

Username: assumptionnt\jdoe
Password: (John Doe's private password)

                           OR

Username: jdoe@assumption.edu
Password: (John Doe's private password)

Houndmail (Campus Email)

The campus webmail is accessed by the address houndmail.assumption.edu and can be access both on campus and off campus. Your houndmail login is your email username followed by your email password.

Issues with Passwords

Password Change System

Regulations require that faculty and staff intermittantly change their passwords. This can be done on campus or off campus at http://www.assumption.edu/password

Password Policy and Reminders

The campus is updating its password policies, which take effect for all faculty, staff, and administrators beginning in April, 2010, following the Easter recess. The IT&MS Department is maintaining a list of resources for the campus to help ease this transition. Our policy change timeline and resources are listed below:

Password Project Archives

Please remember that IT&MS Staff will never ask you for your private password. Malicious emails known as "phishing" emails may resemble emails that you might expect from the IT&MS Department. If you ever receive a suspicious email, do not hesitate to double-check with the IT&MS Department at helpdesk@assumption.edu or to call the Helpdesk at 508-767-7060.
