A regional Emmy Award winning broadcaster, Dennis House co-anchors Channel 3 Eyewitness News at 6 and 11 p.m. in Hartford, CT, and the moderator of "Face the State," a weekly political show. Dennis was recently named one of the most influential people in Hartford by Hartford Magazine.
A foreign affairs major at Assumption, he credits his professional success to the small classrooms at Assumption and the professor-student relationships that formed. Students were intellectually challenged as individuals rather than just sitting in a lecture hall.
“My experience at Assumption was wonderful. It taught me how to learn, how to think, and how to question,” he said. “I often found myself in a small class with a professor who was compelling us to think deeper and in new ways.”
Dennis has worked at television stations in New Hampshire, Illinois, Michigan and Rhode Island before landing in Hartford. He has traveled extensively on assignment and in 2005; he provided live reports of the funeral of Pope John Paul II in Rome.
“Assumption filled me with the confidence and intellectual curiosity to achieve my childhood dream of becoming a broadcast journalist.”
