Almost 60% of Assumption students complete internships and/or practica while at Assumption College. You have the opportunity to complete an internship/practicum for course credit or for career experience, or you may choose to do both. The more internship experiences you complete, the better.
Applying classroom theory in a hands-on work setting provides an opportunity to enhance your education and explore possible career paths. Practical experience is a critical step in preparing for your post-graduation success and is one of the key factors in landing a great job or in differentiating your application to graduate school.
Internship Options
Required coursework: You register for a class that combines hands-on experience and faculty oversight within your major.
Academic credit: You register for an independent study overseen by a faculty member and earn academic credit.
Career experience internship: These internships provide you with critical exposure and skills, but do not provide academic credit. Paid and unpaid positions exist.
