THEOLOGY

Majors: Theology

Number of 2006 Graduates:

Theology is a unique science in that it is grounded in the faith in the truth of God’s Revelation as transmitted in the Church’s Apostolic Tradition, especially the Scriptures. From this special vantage point, Theology seeks deeper understanding of God and God’s relation to each of us and to our world. The Theology program at Assumption is therefore indispensable in providing Assumption’s students with those widest perspectives and deeper insights that are in fact the living heart of liberal education.

  • All students take at least two theology courses.
  • The department is seen more as a service department rather than attracting many majors.
  • The department has integrated the unique charism of the Augustinians of the Assumption into the theology program.
  • The major is designed as a thorough introduction to theology in the broadest sense.
