LECTURE ON "HOW THE NAZIS COLLECTED ART" TO BE PRESENTED AT ASSUMPTION COLLEGE

Assumption College will host a lecture on "How the Nazis
Collected Art" on Wednesday, February 9, 2000, at 7:00 pm in the College's
Auditorium of La Maison Francaise. The lecture will be presented by
Professor S. Lane Faison.

Professor Faison is a distinguished scholar and professor emeritus
at Williams College in Williamstown, MA. As a World War II United States
serviceman with a knowledge of art, Professor Faison played a vital role in
the seizure and return of art looted by the Nazis during the war. He will
speak on his role in this endeavor from WWII through 1951, and of the many
complications that have arisen. At 92 years old, Professor Faison has a
story to tell that few still can.

The lecture, sponsored by the College's Department of Art and
Music, is free and open to the public. For further information, please
contact Lillian Nave Goudas, visiting instructor of art history, at (508)
