Assumption College Professor Recognized as having one of the Best Websites in Education
Worcester, MA-One of the best sites on the Internet for education in the humanities has been awarded to a professor at Assumption College. Dr. John McClymer, a history professor and director of the college's Honors Program, was recently recognized for his "Women's History Workshop" web site as one of the top educational web pages.
The web page received a very high rating from EDSITEment and has been selected to be showcased on its web page. In July, a Blue Ribbon Panel, comprised of leaders in education, government and business, confirmed the value of the site.
The panel assess sites according to the criteria established by EDSITEment: intellectual quality, website design and classroom impact. Sites are nominated for consideration to calls sent out through on-line request issued from EDSITEment. The organization received nearly 800 nominations and the panel selects roughly twenty-four sites to include on their web page. Forty-nine web sites are currently included on the web page.
EDSITEment, the premier humanities Internet resource , a web-based project from MCI WorldCom, the National Endowment for the Humanities and the Council of the Great City Schools. The organization is known for providing the best available humanities websites, selected through a rigorous merit review process for teachers, students, parents and educators.
