Worcester, MA-Assumption College has announced that Jane M. Swift, Lieutenant Governor of Massachusetts, will be the Commencement speaker at the College's Commencement Exercises to be held on Saturday, May 22, at 10:00 a.m. As you may recall, Lt. Swift began her career in government, as a State Senator, at age 25. While running for Congress in 1996, Glamour Magazine listed her as one of "Eleven Women who Could Change the Country."
During the Ceremony on May 22, Lieutenant Governor Swift will receive an honorary Doctor of Business Administration degree.
In addition, Rev. Richard Ryscavage, S.J., National Director of Jesuit Refugee Service/USA, and Secretary for Jesuit International Ministries, Washington, DC, will receive an honorary Doctor of International Human Resource Development degree. Rev. Ryscavage is an alum of Assumption College from the class of 1967.
