Thomas E. Ryan
Worcester, MA- Assumption College President Thomas R. Plough announced today the appointment of a new Vice President for Institutional Advancement, Thomas E. Ryan. As the chief development officer, Tom will supervise the directors of major gifts and planned giving/capital campaign manager, the annual fund, alumni relations, records and research and foundations.
Mr. Ryan comes to Assumption College from the College of the Holy Cross where he has served in various development positions for the past 20 years, including Director of Development and, most recently, Director of Principal Gifts.
A 1976 graduate of Holy Cross, Tom served with the Jesuit Volunteer
Corp
for two years before joining the Holy Cross staff. He currently
serves on the Executive Board for Jesuit Advancement Administrators
and the Executive
Board for Catholic Charities, Diocese of Worcester.
The Search Advisory Committee and President Plough are enthusiastic
about
Tom Ryan's leadership skills and demonstrated commitment to Catholic
higher
education. According to Fr. Andre Dargis, A.A., a member of the
Search Committee, "Tom Ryan was the unanimous first choice
of the search committee. We believe that his education in the
Catholic Liberal Arts tradition, his exceptional record of achievement,
his understanding of the relationship of the Office of Institutional
Advancement within the College community, and his enthusiasm about
Assumption's potential for growth and development as a first-rate
institution of higher learning - all combine to identify him as
the best possible choice for Assumption College at this very promising
moment in our history."
Mr. Ryan will assume his new role as of June 1st.
