SOPRANO, PIANIST TO PERFORM AT ASSUMPTION COLLEGE

Worcester, MA.-As part of Assumption College’s HUMANARTS Series, soprano Jane Shivick and pianist Olga Rogach will perform on Saturday, September 29, 2001 in the Chapel of the Holy Spirit.
The concert will feature selections from Giacomo Puccini's Madame Butterfly and Leonard Bernstein’s West Side Story. Also on the program are selections from Sergey Rachmaninoff, Franz Schubert, and Richard Strauss.
Shivick has been praised by the New York Times for her "character and vocal richness." Recently, Ms. Shivick became a national winner at the Metropolitan Opera National Council, which earned her a debut performance and an NPR broadcast with the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra. She is also a frequent recitalist and soloist in the New England area.
Olga Rogach is currently a pianist for the Salisbury Lyric Opera Company and is on the faculty of the Performing Arts School of Worcester, where she recently received the "Outstanding Faculty" award. She also serves as choir director at St. Peter-Marian High School and is the director of the First Parish Church in Northborough. When she is not doing that, Ms. Rogach can be found teaching piano lessons at Alden Voices at Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
All HUMANARTS events are funded by generous grants from the College’s Office of Academic Affairs and student Government Association. The concert is free and open to the public.
