Assumption College Offers Character and Ethics Seminar

Worcester, MA-In keeping with its commitment to provide an education based on character and civility, Assumption College is hosting a two-week Character and Ethics Summer Institute during the weeks of July 16-27. The Assumption College Education Department is sponsoring the seminar for the Master's of Arts in Education program. The Institute will look at encouraging prospective teachers to examine the role character education has in the classroom. As a highlight of the two-week Institute, Assumption College is very pleased to have Dr. Ted Sizer, professor emeritus of Brown University, Founder of the Coalition of Essential Schools, and Dr. Kevin Ryan, professor emeritus of Boston University, Founder of the Center for the Advancement of Ethics and Character, participating. (see attachment for bios) During the first week, sessions will be from 1:00-4:00 p.m. The second week, sessions will be held in the morning from 9:00-12:00. Sessions will be held in Laska 111.
