Parents Offer Advice for Job Hunting Students
Worcester, MA—As a student, you may not take advice from your own parents, but would you be willing to listen to someone else’s? is betting that you will as it takes a unique approach to help their students become better acquainted with the realities of the working world by offering career advice from parents.
Billed as a Parents Career Networking Dinner, this event will allow members of the Parents Committee, all of whom have sons or daughters enrolled at Assumption, to speak to Juniors and Seniors about what it is really like in the job market. Representatives from banking, global sales, teaching, insurance, bio-technology, publishing, law, medicine, and psychology are just a few examples of careers that will be present at this event.
The dinner will take place on Tuesday, March 19, 2002 at 6:30 p.m. in the Hagan Campus Center Hall. Over 100 students have signed up to attend this event. Students with an interest in a particular career will be seated at a table with the parent representing that career. Parents have been instructed to provide insight into their profession and advice about pursuing it as a career choice. Opportunities for internships, jobs, or contacts abound.
