Can your Table Manners Land you a Job?
No, but they certainly help you to make a good impression.
Dining Etiquette to be Focus of Workshop at Assumption College

Worcester, MA—Assumption’s own Mrs. Manners will be presenting her ever-popular dining etiquette program on Thursday, April 11, 2002 at 6:15 p.m. Carol McGuiggan, co-director of career services in the Student Development Center at Assumption College , has become the area’s foremost expert in matters of etiquette, often lecturing at high schools, colleges, and professional organizations all over Massachusetts. This week, she will deliver one of her more popular programs, "Professional Business and Dining Etiquette" to interested members of the College’s senior class.
Students have been sent an invitation and asked to RSVP, if they will be attending. Professional dress is required and topics such as how to enter a room, when to arrive for a meeting, how to order from a menu, and what to do with your napkin when leaving the table will all be discussed. Of course, how to decipher which eating utensils pertain to what course of food will be the focus of the evening’s five-course meal.
Students, especially those about to enter the job market in the next 6 weeks, will have an opportunity to brush up on their interviewing skills which may take place over a breakfast, brunch, luncheon, dinner, reception, or networking event.
