Dr. Marc LePain, Director of Assumption CollegeÕs Ecumenical Institute, said, "In this summerÕs program Jewish and Christian scholars and resource persons will be leading gatherings of Orthodox, Protestants, and Roman Catholics to reflect on songs which Jews and Christians have prayed for centuries. I am especially pleased that Assumption and the Ecumenical Institute have joined with the Ecumenical Institute of New England in preparing and sponsoring this program." The Ecumenical Institute was established in 1968 and refounded in 1999 to provide a forum for reflection and discussion of questions of common interest to Christians of all churches and to people of other faiths as well. The Institute seeks to clarify the differences that divide Christians, as well as the common issue confronting all believers in our day¾namely, the relation of faith to the modern world.
