Assumption College to Sponsor Lecture on the Blackstone River Valley

Worcester, MA---Assumption College's University Transportation Center (UTC) will sponsor a lecture by Michael Creasey, entitled "How'd You Get Here? The Transportation Revolution in the Blackstone Valley as a Social Revolution." The lecture will take place on Wednesday, December 6, 2000, at 7:00 p.m. in La Maison Francaise's Salon.
Mr. Creasey is the Executive Director of the John H. Chaffee Blackstone River Valley National Heritage Corridor.
In addition to sponsoring a lecture series, the College's UTC has established local and regional partnerships with schools, and environmental and transportation organizations, to help educate students on the interaction between transportation and the environment. The UTC also seeks, through programs of education, research, and technology, to develop an education and science curricula that incorporates transportation and environment issues for use in the training of future K-12 teachers.
Certificates of attendance will be available to educators. The lecture is free and open to the public.
