Sexual Predators is Topic of Symposium at Assumption College
Worcester, MA-Assumption College's Center for Continuing and Professional Education will sponsor a Criminal Justice Symposium, "Why Can't We Protect Our Children: Sexual Predators Within Our Communities," on Friday, November 10, 2000, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in the Hagan Campus Center Hall.
A keynote address will be delivered by Hon. Suzanne V. DelVecchio, Chief Justice of Massachusetts Superior Court.
Following the keynote address will be a panel presentation, moderated by Donald Moran, Regional Supervisor at the Office of the Commissioner of Probation. The panelists will include: Sgt. William Benedict, Juvenile Division of the Worcester Police Department; Mr. Robert Curley, Victim's Advocate; Hon. Francis Fecteau, Justice of Worcester Superior Court; Hon. Paul F. LoConto, First Justice of Fitchburg's District Court and Regional Administrative Justice for Region IV; Ms. Ann McCarron, Victim's Advocate and Recreational Sports Director at Assumption; and Mary Sawicki, ADA, Chief of Child Abuse Unit in District Attorney John J. Conte's office.
The panel will speak on the issue of sexual offenders and how their crimes affect families and communities.
