Gandhi Scholar to Speak at Assumption
College
Worcester, MA-Dr. Naresh Dadhich, professor of Political Science at the University of Rajasthan, India, will speak on "GandhiÕs Influence and India Today" Monday, April 9, at 7:00p.m., at Assumption CollegeÕs Kennedy Building, Room 116. Professor Dadhich is director of the Jaipur Peace Foundation and editor of the bilingual Journal of the Centre for Gandhian Studies. The Japiur Peace Foundation encourages projects on human transformation through life-awakening activities and engaged consciousness. According to Dr. Dadhich, "Peace is much more than what the West believes; that is, the transformation of conflict through the maximization of nonviolence. It is, rather, a total awareness of soul, personal and social, esoteric and exotericÉIt is what makes human existence meaningful." Dr. Dadhich has lectured widely on Gandhi both in this country and abroad,, and most recently at Tufts University and the University of Maryland.
