Assumption College announces Conference on Dominus Jesus
Worcester, MAŃ Assumption College's Ecumenical Institute, in conjunction with The Office of Ecumenical and Interreligious Affairs of the Diocese of Worcester, and The Worcester County Ecumenical Council will be presenting a conference on Dominus Jesus: On the Unicity and Salvific Universality of Jesus Christ and the Church. The conference will be held in the Hagan Center Hall on Thursday, February 1, 2001, at 4:30 p.m. After opening greetings, a presentation will be given by Fr. Edward O'Flaherty, S.J., of the Boston Archdiocese Ecumenical Commission. A buffet supper will be served, followed by a panel discussion and closing prayer. The program will conclude at 8:30 p.m. The four panelists will be: Rev. Karl Donfried, Professor of Religion and Biblical Literature, Smith College; Rev. Gabriel Fackre, Abbott Professor of Christian Theology, Emeritus at Andover Newton Theological School; Rev. Nicholas Apostola, Pastor St. Nicholas Romanian Orthodox Church, Worcester; and Fr. George Tavard, A.A., Peritus of Vatican II and ecumenical theologian. Pre-registration is required before January 26, 2001. The conference fee is $15 per person and includes the buffet supper and the text of "Dominus Jesus" which will be sent to all participants prior to the conference.
