Assumption to Honor Veterans
Worcester, MA (November 8, 2006) -
Assumption College will remember and honor veterans with two significant events this week.
A Veterans Day Prayer Service honoring veterans will be held on Friday, November 10 at noon in the Chapel of the Holy Spirit. This service will feature music, readings, reflections, the presence of veterans, and a prayerful reading of the names of veterans that the Assumption College community wishes to remember in a special way. All are invited to attend as Assumption pays tribute to our veterans, both living and deceased. Please contact Campus Ministry at 508-767-7419 for more information.
Also, donations of items for the Massachusetts Veterans’ Shelter in Worcester are currently being accepted at the Reach Out Center in the Hagan Campus Center and in the Plourde Recreation Center. The following items are greatly appreciated: toiletries (razors, shaving cream, and soap), canned goods, snacks (hot cocoa, oatmeal, and soup), and socks.
