Assumption Hosts Opening Reception for Shortsleeve and Marshall
Worcester, MA - The Assumption College Emmanuel d’Alzon Library
Arts Series will host an opening reception for "People, Places & Things," an exhibit by painters Karen Shortsleeve and Rosemary Marshall on Wednesday, January 18 at 4:30 p.m. in the Emmanuel d’Alzon
Library.
Shortsleeve graduated from the University of Hartford Art School with a degree in Fine Art and Education in 1979. She taught studio art at St. Peter Marian from 1979-1984. In 1984 she started a hand-painted clothing business in which she painted original floral and abstract designs on clothing for various stores in and around Worcester. She also taught special education in the Worcester area from 1993-1998 and is currently in her seventh year as a fine arts teacher at St. John's High School in Shrewsbury, MA.
Marshall studied at the Art Institute of Boston and has been working as an artist in the Worcester area for 30 years. Her work has included corporate design, calligraphy, watercolors, and jewelry.
