April,
2005—Along
with the entire world, Assumption College mourns the loss of our
Holy Father, Pope John Paul II.
The Assumption College community is invited to gather in the Chapel
of the Holy Spirit on Wednesday, April 6, 2005 at the 5:00 p.m.
Mass, to remember him in prayer and to thank God for the gift of
Pope John Paul II to the Church and to all people. In this season
of Easter, we celebrate his life and his goodness during his time
among us, and we rejoice in his entrance into fullness of life in
God.
The Chorale's Spring Concert will be held on Sunday, April 17, 2005
at 3 p.m. in the Chapel. Selected pieces from the 1992 concert for
the Pope will be included.
Below are photos from the Assumption College Chorale's
visit to Rome in 1992.
Several of the Assumptionists accompanied the chorale when they
performed for the Pope in 1986. Former Assumption President Joseph
Hagan requested a private audience for them, where he made a presentation
of documents to the Holy father concerning the visit to the College
of the first American Ambassador to the Vatican, William A. Wilson,
and the Apostolic Delegate, Archbishop Pio Laghi.
