College's Emmanuel d'Alzon Library Arts Series presents an exhibit
by watercolorist Kristina Occhino, beginning on February 28, 2005.
An opening reception for Occhino will take place on March 2, 2005
at 4:00 p.m. in the d'Alzon Library.
Occhino is the owner of Treetop Studio in Attleboro, MA. In the
fall of 2000, Kris opened the studio in her Attleboro home to the
public for the purpose of teaching drawing and painting to adults. Well
trained in her craft, she holds a B.S. in Studio Art from Skidmore
College and a master's degree in Art Education from Rhode
Island School of Design. She is a former director of the Attleboro
Museum, Center for the Arts, and she taught visual arts in the Attleboro
Public Schools for ten years. Besides teaching in her studio,
Occhino is on the faculty of the Fuller Craft Museum in Brockton,
MA.
Occhino has studied watercolor with such nationally recognized painters
as Judi Wagner and Carlton Plummer, AWS. She has also studied
and offered workshops in Sumi-e painting and faux finish painting
techniques. She also accepts commissions for paintings, such as
portrait paintings of people, pets or homes. She can also
create one-of-a-kind, hand-painted furnishings and accessories using
faux finish painting techniques.
