Painting of LIFT bus transit system in Framingham, MAApril, 2006 - Assumption College art students Caitlyn Clark ’06 and Karen Winston were each named runners-up in a recent design competition for the LIFT (Local Inter Framingham Transit) bus system in Framingham, MA.

Clark and Winston were among four students out of 26 total participants who received $50 prizes for their design concepts. The contest featured art students from all over Massachusetts who hailed from such institutions as Massachusetts College of Art, Suffolk University, and Framingham State College. Yuko Kurokawa, an art major at Framingham State, received a $1,000 prize for first place and will have his artwork placed on one bus.

The town of Framingham sponsored the design contest in order to increase ridership and promote its transportation network. All of the designs will be on display in Framingham’s Memorial Building until May 12.
