Crimes and Misdemeanors": Lecture with Cybercrime Expert Jayne

of National Library Week (April 10-16), the Emmanuel d'Alzon Library
presents a lecture with cybercrime expert Jayne Hitchcock on Tuesday,
April 12, 2005 at 7:00 p.m. in the Library.
Jayne Hitchcock is the head of an organization called Working
to Halt Online Abuse (WHOA), which lobbies for tougher laws and
gives victims guidance on how to deal with cyberstalking.
The presentation will include the latest in cyberstalking statistics;
who cyberstalkers are; sample cases; how to tell the difference
between spam and harassment/stalking; how to work with employees,
co-workers and students if they are being harassed; setting appropriate
online usage policies; online safety tips; and much more. Attendees
should be able to handle just about any online-related situation
they may encounter after this session.
This event, which is sponsored by the Emmanuel d'Alzon Library,
Worcester Area Cooperating Libraries, and the College of Worcester
