Mayan Women's Playwright Cooperative to Perform
 Worcester, MA - FOMMA, a Mayan women’s playwright cooperative in Chiapas, Mexico, will present the play Just with the Love of My Mother on Wednesday, April 5 at 4:30 p.m. in the La Maison Francaise Auditorium.
FOMMA is an acronym for “Forteza de la Mujer Maya” (Strength of the Mayan Woman), and was founded in 1994 by Petrona de la Cruz and Juarez Espinosa, the first Indian women playwrights. This play is produced in order to reconstruct a sense of both community and dignity for Mayans in Mexico. The play deals with issues of human rights, alcoholism, and ecology.
The group has toured the United States and audiences everywhere acclaim both
their passionate performance and worthy cause.
