Assumption College Presents Spring 2004 Corporate Education Programs

January, 2004— The Corporate Education Center division of the Center for Continuing and Professional Education at Assumption College is presenting several programs throughout the Spring 2004 semester.

The Center, in cooperation with the Society for Human Resource Management, is presenting The SHRM Learning System, a 35-hour seminar for HR professionals and those preparing to take the national PHR/SPHR Certification Exams. The registration deadline for this seminar is January 14, 2004, and courses will be held on Wednesdays from 6:00-9:00 PM, beginning on January 28, 2004 and ending on April 14, 2004. Discounts will be given to HRMA, SHRM, and NEHRA members.

In addition to this program, the Center, in cooperation with the Society for Human Resource Management, is also presenting Fundamentals of Human Resources Management, a 15-hour seminar for those seeking to enter the field of HR, and for employees with management responsibilities. The registration deadline is January 20, 2004. Discounts will be given to HRMA, SHRM, and NEHRA members.

Assumption College and The Center for Women and Enterprise will be holding a seminar entitled “Women and Entrepreneurship: An Overview on Starting A Business Enterprise.” It will run from January 27 until March 4, 2004 and the classes will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30 until 6:30 p.m. on the Assumption campus. The class is a six-week, 12-session seminar that helps women explore the many facts of entrepreneurship, from conception to operation. Accomplished entrepreneur Carrie Johnson will serve as the seminar’s instructor, and several other successful women entrepreneurs will be guest speakers.

The Center is offering a 14-week certificate program in Medical Coding and Billing, beginning January 21, 2004, and a 5-week certificate program in Advanced Medical Coding and Billing, beginning March 1, 2004. Seating is limited, and registration is ongoing now through January 20, 2004.

Five computer applications workshops are also being offered through the Center, beginning January 22, 2004. The workshops are: Microsoft Office, Advanced Microsoft Office, Web Design/Dreamweaver, Dynamic Web Design/Dreamweaver, and Access.
