Assumption to Celebrate Constitution Day
Worcester, MA (September 15, 2006) - In celebration of Constitution Day and in compliance with legislation put in place by President George W. Bush, Assumption College will host a Constitutional Education Program on Monday, September 18, 2006.
Dr. Peter Schultz, associate professor of Political Science, will present a lecture entitled, "Chaining the Dog of War: War Powers and the Constitution” at 4:00 p.m. in the Auditorium of La Maison Francaise.
In 2005, legislation passed by Congress mandated that all educational institutions receiving Federal funding are required to hold an educational program pertaining to the United States Constitution on (or around) September 17 of each year.
