Resident Assistants Host Week of Remembrance Coffeehouse
Worcester, MA - The Assumption College Office of Residential Life along with their resident assistants hosted a Week of Remembrance coffeehouse event at Charlie's on January 18, 2006.
During the day, resident assistants posted collages on easels throughout Charlie's which represented different illustrations of the civil rights movement. Quotes and poems from the time of the civil rights movement were also displayed.
At the evening's coffeehouse event, the resident assistants read poems, quotes, and sang songs, about civil rights and the Week of Remembrance events which were held from January 16 through January 20. The Week of Remembrance events included two screenings of a documentrary on the life of civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. All 56 resident assistants were involved with the coffeehouse event, either on stage or through the collages. The event provided Assumption students with a great opportunity to learn more about the civil rights movement and the Week of Remembrance.
