Assumption
Chorale to Perform with Consortium Choirs at Mechanics Hall
April, 2005—The Assumption College Chorale,
directed by professor Michelle Graveline, will join the choruses
from five other colleges in the Worcester Consortium to present
a performance of Carl Orff's 20th-century masterwork, Carmina
Burana, with full professional orchestra. This performance
will take place on Sunday, May 1, 2005, at 3:00 p.m. in Mechanics
Hall, 321 Main St., Worcester.
Other colleges participating include Anna Maria College Choir, the
Clark University Concert Choir, the Holy Cross Concert Choir, the
Worcester Polytechnic Institute Choirs, and the Worcester State
College Choir. The entire concert will be conducted by Dr. Christie
Nigro of Worcester State. A pre-concert lecture will be given by
Dr. Patrick Quinn, Chair of the Humanities dept. at WPI. There will
be almost 300 singers for this massed chorus.
Tickets are $15 for regular admission; $8 for students and seniors.
