Continuing Education Students Give Assumption an "A"
Worcester, MA - Assumption’s Center for Continuing and Professional Education recently announced the results of a Web-based survey conducted to gauge CE student satisfaction in various areas of support and service. The survey, which was completed by 154 CE students in October, 2005, reported an overall “A” average.
The CE program has conducted anonymous surveys of its students every three or four years since the mid 1980s. A focus group of CE students was also conducted this past October to evaluate the program’s Web site.
“We were blown away by the level of satisfaction in the survey,” said Brian Bercier, assistant dean of continuing education. “It’s easy to look at positive results like this and say we’re doing a good job, but we’re always looking for ways to maintain the high quality of our academic programs.”
Many CE students were referred by a friend or co-worker who thought highly of their experience at Assumption, or who thought the quality and service was the best around. One student said they chose Assumption because “at a college fair, the Assumption CE representative was the only one willing to spend the time to answer all of my questions.” Another student said the CE program’s “understanding of the needs of single parents who are trying to have a decent future” made all the difference. According to the survey, generous transfer credit policies and faculty “who really teach students, value and care about them” help make Assumption a great choice for adult learners.
In other comments, one student wrote “The staff of the CE Center is exceptional. They are always ready, willing, and able to assist me with any of my needs. AC doesn't have the bureaucratic feel of many of the other colleges and universities; instead, there is a genuine willingness to contribute to the success of its students.” Another student noted, “My experience at Assumption has been excellent. I have noticed many professionals that have received degrees from Assumption. It's a great school.”
