CE Presents 2006 Faculty Awards
Worcester, MA (August 29, 2006) - Phillip Ryznal, adjunct faculty member for Continuing Education, received the Outstanding Faculty Award at the Continuing Education Faculty Dinner on August 24.
Continuing Education annually honors a member of its adjunct faculty who has taught at least 15 courses and who has also demonstrated outstanding commitment, cooperation, and teaching ability. These faculty members have a reputation for receiving excellent course evaluations and showing a genuine concern for their students.
Ryznal (pictured at left with Dean of Continuing Education Charlene Martin) began teaching at the Center for Continuing and Professional Education in 1981 and has taught a variety of accounting courses. In 2003, he was inducted into the Dean’s Circle, an honor reserved for those CE faculty members who have taught for the Center for over 20 years.
He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Management from the University of Maryland, and an M.B.A. from Anna Maria College. He served in the United States Air Force for 10 years and worked as a controller for Valtec Corporation and Webster Spring Company before opening his own accounting and tax services business in North Oxford, MA.
Timothy Connolly ’77, G’80, also honored during the ceremony, was inducted into the Dean’s Circle in recognition of his service to the College for 20 years. Connolly has taught Journalism, Professional and Academic Writing, Writing and Editing, and Media in Today’s World for Continuing Education since 1987. He was a journalist for the Worcester Telegram & Gazette for many years and currently is Director of Communications for the Massachusetts Department of Revenue. He earned his undergraduate and graduate degrees from Assumption.
