Assumption College HUMANARTS Series Presents Leon Bates, Pianist

April, 2004— Assumption College’s HUMANARTS Series presents a concert with world-class pianist Leon Bates on Saturday, April 17, 2004 at 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Holy Spirit.

Bates has performed all around the world as a concert pianist, appearing with the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Cleveland Symphony, the New York Philharmonic, the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the San Francisco Symphony, and the Atlanta Symphony. He has appeared on several national and local TV and radio programs, including “The Today Show” on NBC and “CBS Sunday Morning.”

On April 17, Bates will perform virtuostic pieces by composers Chopin and Rachmaninoff, as well as arrangements of Duke Ellington songs, and a finale of Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue.
