Students Inducted into Alpha Kappa Delta Honor Society
Worcester, MA - Ten Assumption College students were inducted into Alpha Kappa Delta (AKD), the international sociology honor society, on May 1, 2006.
Following the submission of an extensive application during the 2002–2003 academic year, which required the input of all the faculty members of the department of Sociology and Anthropology, Assumption was granted an AKD chapter charter, Rho of Massachusetts, in May 2003. Since that time, 26 Assumption students have become members of AKD.

Founded in 1920, AKD is an international honor society in sociology that recognizes outstanding academic achievement in the discipline. To be eligible for membership, students must be a junior or senior; have an overall GPA of at least 3.0; have taken at least four courses in sociology, with an average GPA of 3.0 or higher in those four courses; and rank in the top 35 percent of their class.
