to Host COWC Event: "Colleges and Community–Creating
Collaborations"

2005—Assumption
College will host a Colleges of the Worcester Consortium networking
event, "Colleges and Community–Creating Collaborations,"
on Tuesday, March 29, 2005 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in the Hagan
Campus Center.
This event is designed to create new collaborations between the
city's college students, K-12 schools, and agencies in the Worcester
community. Representatives from Colleges of the Worcester Consortium
schools will showcase the various types of community placements
in which their students participate: internships, work study, volunteer
placements, research opportunities, and service learning.
The Consortium will also introduce its most recent publication,
Community Placement Report for 2003-2004, during a presentation
scheduled for 4:30 p.m. This publication presents the information
submitted by the campuses to the Consortium regarding their various
types of placements at community locations in the 2003-2004 academic
year, representing
more than 500,000 hours of community service.
