Cibele Remigio
Major: Management Cibele Remigio’s goals have always been to get a Ph.D. in International Business, to be working for an international corporation, and to dedicate her life to her family and work. Cibele is originally from Brazil, where she studied piano for twelve years at a music conservatory. She came to the United States when her father, a doctor and the main source of inspiration in her life, was invited to attend a medical program in New York. Cibele found the transition to the American way of life difficult, particularly the language barrier, but she knew it was an obstacle she had to overcome. While working on the janitorial staff at Data General, she also attended high school at Hudson High School. As her English improved, she was able to use her Portuguese and Spanish skills to teach at the New England Piano Academy. After a few years there, she realized how far she had come and decided to enroll at Quinsigamond Community College in Business Administration. There she graduated with highest honors and decided to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in Management at Assumption College. Cibele feels that Assumption College will give her the degree she needs to be prepared to enter the workforce. Receiving her degree will also help her to achieve her ultimate goal of obtaining a Ph.D. in International Business. As a result of her long journey, Cibele has gained a valuable perspective on the important aspects of life. She says, “I’ll be dedicating my life to my family, work, and books, which I know will lead me to a very successful life, always having as a guide the one who never let me down, God.”
