Colleen McKay

Class Year: 1988
Hometown: Worcester, MA
Although she is the director of the Program for Clubhouse Research and a faculty member at the University of Massachusetts Medical School, the novelty license plate on Colleen McKay’s (’88) car might read: “I’d rather be fishing.”
She began fishing bass tournaments in 1999 and is fishing the ESPN Women's Bassmaster Tour (WBT), where she finished 11th overall in the co-angler division and qualified for the WBT Championships in Birmingham, AL in February. Colleen posted three top 50 finishes in the WBT co-angler division in 2006, including a second place finish at Lake Dardanelle, AR, and a sixth place finish at Bull Shoals, MO.
The tournament director of her bass club, the Green Water Wizards, Colleen fishes both club (individual) and team tournaments in the Massachusetts Bass Federation, and has had several top ten finishes. She and her fishing partner finished in the top ten in the Mass Bass Federation Tournament of Champions in 2002, ’05, and ’06.
She will fish the WBT in 2007 as a non-boater, but hopes to obtain a boat and fish as a boater in the future. A Worcester resident, Colleen is member of Assumption’s President’s Council and its Committee, which she has served on since 2003.
