Assumption Remembers Boston Marathon Bombings

The spring issue of Assumption Magazine features Boston Marathon bombing recollections from the FBI's Richard DesLauriers '82 and inspirational survivor Michele Mahoney.

DesLauriers, former special agent in charge of the FBI’s Boston Field Division, drew upon is 26 years of law enforcement experience to spearhead one of the most intensive manhunts in history after the April 2013 marathon bombings. He shares with Assumption Magazine his insights and recollections of that day.

Mahoney, daughter of Assumption College President Francesco Cesareo’s executive administrative assistant, Sharon Mahoney, sustained injuries to both legs when the first bomb exploded. Through the support of her close-knit family and hundreds of others, including the Assumption community, Michele has survived and thrived in the year since the tragedy.
