Reaching your dreams is your life-long right and responsibility. Family will support you, teachers will engage you, friends will encourage you, faith will guide you, and many others will inspire you to get there. But ultimately getting there is your responsibility. The journey is easier when the conditions are right. So prepare yourself well and discover the 8 Conditions® proven to affect your success. Seek them out every step of your way and be your own leader.
Tell Your School What You Think
Ask your school leaders to take part in the NCCSA Our Catholic School: My Voice Student Survey. The survey is anonymous and results show the strength of the 8 Conditions® in your school from your perspective. The stronger the Conditions are in your learning environment, the greater your success will be. The NCCSA can help your school find ways to best foster the Conditions in all areas of learning and faith formation to support your life-long dreams and aspirations.
Boost Your Student Council
How does your Student Council impact your school? Too often Student Councils look only to plan social events, such as Valentine's Day dances and field trips when they could be creating meaningful change for the entire school community. The NCCSA helps Student Councils become effective agents of student voice and school improvement. We provide Student Councils with the powerful framework of the 8 Conditions® and hands-on leadership training to help guide their efforts and reach their goals.
Participate in a Leadership Conference
Bring our Stand Up Speak Out Student Leadership Conference to your school or diocese. This exciting one-day event provides a unique opportunity for you to gain leadership skills through workshops and team-building exercises, connect with Catholic school students from your diocese, discover ways to make a difference in your own school, interact with trained college student leaders and reflect on the leadership model of Jesus. You and your classmates will come away from this exhilarating event with special objectives that you’ve chosen to improve your school and guidelines to reach your goals.
Enjoy a Faith-full Retreat
What decisions stand before you? What does it mean to live a life of faith? What is God calling you to do? Who are you becoming? Take time to reflect on these questions at an Aspirations Retreat. This experience invites you to see where God is working in your life and to discover powerful ways to use your gifts to do God's work. Retreats can be especially meaningful for those of you who are transitioning into high school or college and want to deepen your relationship with God.
Invite a Guest Speaker
Does your student body have lots of cliques? Do you feel safe sharing your opinion? Want to motivate your fellow classmates? Invite the NCCSA to address a small team or group at your school, or present to your entire student body at an assembly. During this keynote event, we’ll target a Condition that needs to be boosted in your school community and give you some tools to initiate improvement.
Do any of the events and opportunities above call to you? If so, ask your school leaders about ways that you can experience the work of the NCCSA and bring the 8 Conditions® to your school community.
