We all want the best for our children. We want them to learn and grow, to hope and dream, to set goals and strive to reach them. We have the power and ability to help guide our children to do all of these things. The first step is to understand and integrate techniques that foster our children’s aspirations in their daily lives.
Research based on the work of Dr. Russell Quaglia has shown that there are 8 Conditions® that promote children's aspirations. The NCCSA believes that these Conditions are inherent in the Catholic faith and has adapted these principles to support the schools and families of Catholic school students.
When children have high aspirations, they are able to set goals for the future, and most importantly, take steps in the present to reach those goals. They are confident to take on new challenges, persevere through difficult tasks and rely on their faith to take important steps to reach their goals. We believe that students have the highest degree of success reaching their aspirations when they experience common supportive conditions in both their home and learning environment.
We invite all family members of Catholic school students to learn about aspirations and the 8 Conditions® that support student success. Consider your own aspirations and reflect on your influential role in your children's lives. Families that learn to integrate and emphasize the 8 Conditions ® at home can truly help their children's hopes and dreams for the future become a reality.
