Monica Godoy Tessitore, Pianist

Monica Godoy Tessitore Monica is a Brazilian-American pianist. She has been living in Ashburnham or the last 19 years and is an active soloist and chamber musician. She received her musical education from the “Escola de Musica de Brasilia”, the Hartt School of Music, New England Conservatory and Boston University. She has appeared with several orchestras and ensembles including the Brasilia Symphony Orchestra (Claudio Santoro, conductor), the Hartt Symphony Orchestra (Charles Bruch, conductor) the “Orchestra de L’Empodá” in Spain and most recently with the Indian Hill Orchestra (Bruce Hangen, conductor). As a chamber musician she has participated in the Taos Chamber Music Festival and the International Music Festival of Brasilia winning numerous accolades for her performances. She was the co-artistic director and pianist for the Indian Hill Chamber Players from 2004-2011 performing many important works from the piano chamber music repertoire. She has also appeared in concert with distinguish ensembles and soloist such as the Emerson String Quartet, the Walden Chamber Players and in Brazil with Peter Stumpf, principal cellist of the LA Philharmonic. Dr. Tessitore’s international appearances include performances in Italy, Spain, Brazil and South Korea. She has been in the piano faculty of the Indian Hill Music School since 1997. She is also a faculty member at the Cushing Academy in Ashburnham and Assumption College in Worcester.
