Through donations from Continuing Education alumni/ae and W.I.S.E.,
there is scholarship money available to matriculated Continuing
Education students. Eligibility requirements and application information
is available in the Center during the summer, with awards made in time for the fall semester. Awards are based on financial need and a 500-word essay. Contact the Center for details in the summer.
Employer Reimbursement
Many companies offer some form of tuition reimbursement as a benefit
to their employees. Contact the benefits office at your company
for information and to make arrangements with your employer prior
to registration. Deferred tuition payment is possible for employees
of approved companies.
Extended Payment Plan
Continuing Education students may arrange to pay educational expenses
through regularly scheduled payments with Tuition Pay (AMS). Application
deadlines are August 1 for the fall semester and December 1 for
the spring semester. This low-cost, flexible payment system is not
a loan program; there is an application fee of $60, but no interest
or finance charges. Applications are available from the Finance
office at 508-767-7451 for more information.
Federal Pell Grants
The Federal Pell Grant is an award for undergraduate students who
qualify on the basis of financial need. Individuals who have been
notified that they are eligible for a Pell Grant may use that grant
to take courses through the Center providing that they have been
accepted into an eligible program leading to a degree or certificate.
Students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student
Aid (using the code 002118) and submit the Assumption College Continuing
Education Financial Aid Application to the Financial Aid Office.
For additional information, please contact that office at 508-767-7154.
Federal Stafford Loan Program
The Federal Stafford Loan requires no repayment while the student
is enrolled at least half-time. Students must be accepted into a
degree or certificate program. Students must complete the Free Application
for Federal Student Aid and submit the Assumption College Continuing
Education Financial Aid Application to the Financial Aid Office.
Students will also need to complete a Stafford Loan promissory note
available in the Financial Aid Office.
Massachusetts Part-Time Student Grant Program
The Massachusetts Part-Time Student Grant Program is available
to eligible students who meet the criteria outlined in the Financial
Aid Guide available in the Center. Students interested in applying
for financial assistance under the terms of this grant should insure
that the appropriate forms are filed in the Financial Aid Office.
Veterans’ Benefits
Veterans and reservists who are eligible for benefits
and are matriculated in a degree or certificate program must pay
tuition and fees for courses taken in the Center for Continuing & Career Education (in accordance with Chapter 457, Acts
of 1976). Benefits will be paid directly to the student. All veterans
must complete a form indicating their eligible status as approved
by the Veterans’ Affairs Officer. Veterans should contact
