Associate of Arts in Humanities

All Continuing & Career Education associate and bachelor degree programs share the CCE Core, a common core of ten liberal arts courses designed to provide a foundation of knowledge in writing, theology, philosophy, literature, history, mathematics, natural science, and foreign languages.

Associate degrees require completion of 23 courses/69 credits, with at least 8 courses/24 credits taken at Assumption. The Associate of Arts in Humanities has concentrations available in English, history, literature, philosophy, theology, and general humanities. General humanities also include art, music, and foreign languages.

English Composition
Writing II (Business Writing or
Professional & Academic Writing)
The Bible
Introduction to Philosophy
One Philosophy or Theology elective
One Literature course
One Survey History course
One course in Mathematics
Two courses chosen from Natural Science and/or
Foreign Language

Associate of Arts in Humanities

Concentration (8 courses/24 credits)
Choose from English, history, literature, philosophy, theology, and general humanities. General humanities also include art, music, and foreign languages.
