Jim Guttmann's "Bessarabian Breakdown"

On Wednesday evening, April 23, Klezmer Conservatory Band basssist Jim Guttmann will bring his Klezmer All Stars to Assumption College's Hagan Hall for a free concert of klezmer music. The repertoire will include traditional klezmer as well as fusions with jazz, Latin and R&B and there will be plenty of room for dancing a hora, a cha cha or expressive movement.

Boston Cello Quartet Performance

This event is free and open to the public. There are no reserved seats or tickets required. The doors will open at 1pm.

The program will consist of various original compositions and virtuosic arrangements for cello quartet. Some of the composers that will be featured in our program include Mozart, Debussy, Mendelssohn, Chabrier and John Williams.

Poet Naturalist: Robert Frost and the Changing Landscape of New England by Dr. Owen Sholes

Robert Frost grew up in San Francisco and came to live in New England when he was eleven years old. He soon began exploring his new home as an amateur naturalist, and he was endlessly fascinated with the changing landscape: the seasons of the year, and the slow but steady resurgence of nature after people abandoned their farms and moved elsewhere.
