LIFEGUARDING TODAY COURSE

The Recreational Sports Office will be offering American Red Cross Certified Lifeguarding Today course at the Plourde Recreation Center. This American Red Cross course covers the skills and knowledge required for effective lifeguarding at swimming pools. Upon successful completion, students will receive Lifeguarding Today/First Aid Certification (good for 3 years), Standard First Aid & CPR (good for 1 year) for the professional rescuer certification.

PRE-REQUISITE:

• A pre-test will be conducted during the first session to determine continued participation.
• Participants must be fifteen years of age or older & in good physical condition.

$125 - Assumption College Student
$150 - Community Member

Learn-to-Swim Program

The Recreational Sports Office will be offering American Red Cross Certified Swimming Lessons at the Plourde Recreation Center Pool. The Learn -To -Swim program
offers a multi- level system, which will encompass all of your swimming needs. Each level focuses on water safety education, safety skills, movement skills and swimming skills. Lessons will run for a half-hour on each Saturday for ten weeks. The schedule is below.

Registration forms are available only at the Plourde Rec. Office at the time of registration.
First come, first serve
Please arrive no earlier than 3:30pm
We discourage bringing children to registration days

$70per child for the ten-week session

LIMIT:
15-20 participants for Infant & Pre-school classes
(First come, first serve basis)

30 participants for all level classes (first come, first serve basis)

INFANT AND PRE-SCHOOL AQUATICS PROGRAM -is designed to let children (6 months to 5 years of age) have fun in the water while developing swimming readiness

Guidelines for Learn -To -Swim Program:
1. All babies must wear swimmies, diapers / rubber pants with swim suit
2. Please use student locker rooms - unless posted otherwise.

Water Safety Instructor Course
This class will train you to be an American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor. All participants who successfully complete all requirements of the course will recieve Water Safety Instructor Certification.

Dates: February 27th, March 12th, March 26th, April 2nd, April 9th, April 16th and April 30th.

Cost:
$125 - Assumption College Students
$150 -Community Member

Class Limit: 10

Pre-requisite: Lifeguarding Today certification or strong swimming skills. A pre-test will be conducted the first night of class. All participants must be 17 years of age or older to participate.

REFUND POLICY
Full refunds will be available only to those who signed up for a course that is cancelled or who withdraw from a course prior to the first scheduled start date. Persons who withdraw within one week after scheduled start date will be eligible for a 50% refund of the total fee. If medical reasons are involved, please see the Recreational Sports Director
