Cardboard boat races is exactly what it means! Started in 2006, this event has become one of the most creative, exciting events. Teams will make a boat that will fit 2 people, made out of only cardboard and duct tape. Then be able to get into the boat, and row across the water without sinking.

RULES: 

  • Must have exactly 2 people per boat.
  • Teams supply own materials (Cardboard & Duct tape only)
  • No paint or Glue – Permanent Marker is okay.
  • Boat can be no longer than 10’.
  • Boats width must fit in one lane of the pool (be sure to leave room for paddling as well), also keep in mind boats must fit through doorways.
  • Paddles & life vests will be provided.
  • Must use paddles to propel boat.
  • Race will be 2 pool lengths without sinking (down & back).
  • Weekend Champions T-shirts will be awarded to boats with fastest race time and best theme design. (limit 4 t-shirts per team)
  • Teams may bring their boats to the Plourde to test them during the week leading up to the race (3/24-28).
