Fr. Dennis Gallagher, AA - Vice President for Mission
|

Fr.
Dennis Gallagher, A.A. has been the Vice President for Mission
at Assumption since the summer of 2000. He is also the Regional
Superior of the Assumptionists in the United States. As VP for
Mission, Fr. Dennis oversees the Campus Ministry program as well
as the National Catholic Center for Student Aspirations at Assumption
College. The office for Mission is directly involved in the hiring
and orientation of new faculty members and in promoting reflection
on the Catholic and Assumptionist character of the College. Previous
to this assignment, Fr. Dennis taught in the theology department,
specializing in courses dealing with the relationship between
Christianity and the modern world. He has also done formation
work in his community. Fr. Dennis is an avid sports fan, whose
life-long sufferings were rewarded last October, and in recent
years a cooking enthusiast. His biggest enthusiasm, next to God
and community, may be reserved for Coach Bobby Knight, believe

Nancy Small - Director of Campus Ministry
|
Nancy, a native of Northbridge, MA, has been serving as the Director of Campus Ministry at Assumption since the fall of 2006. She holds a Master of Divinity degree from Union Theological Seminary and a B.S. in Management from Boston College. Nancy was trained as a spiritual director at the Center for Spirituality and Justice in the Bronx and is known for her work in the areas of spirituality, prayer and ritual. Prior to coming to Assumption, Nancy served as the director of the Center for Spiritual Direction in Holyoke, MA. She has a passion for peacemaking and is a past national coordinator of Pax Christi USA, the national Catholic peace movement. Her prior ministries include serving on the staff of Mercy Center, a South Bronx community center that works to empower women and families. She also served as a pastoral associate at the Church of St. Francis Xavier in Manhattan, coordinating the parish’s ESL/GED program and its peace and justice ministry. Nancy’s commitment to justice was ignited during her years as a Jesuit Volunteer, when she experienced poverty first-hand as a pastoral minister and as a legal advocate. As Director of Campus Ministry, Nancy oversees the work of the Office of Campus Ministry, furthers its programs of spiritual development, and works with students preparing for baptism and confirmation. Dr. Frank Corbin - Director of
Chapel Music

Frank Corbin has held the position
of college organist at Assumption College since 1989. He was appointed
Director of Chapel Music in 1999, overseeing the liturgical music
program of the college chapel. In addition, he teaches organ, piano
and Music Theory in the Department of Fine Arts, and is Chair of
the college's concert series, Humanarts. Corbin completed the Doctor
of Musical Arts degree and Performer's Certificate at the Eastman
School of Music in Rochester, NY. He holds additional degrees from
Oberlin College (B. Mus.), University of Cincinnati (M. Mus.), and
Concordia University, Montreal (Diploma in Advanced Performance
Studies). Corbin has been a top-prize winner in several national
and
international contests and his recording of works of Cesar Franck,
including The Three Chorals, was recently released on the Centaur

Mrs. Stephanie McCaffrey
- Assistant Director of Campus Ministry

Stephanie is
a native of St. Petersburg, FL and has been working at Assumption
since the fall of 2000. She is a 1993 graduate of Washington and
Lee University in Lexington, VA and received her Master of Divinity
degree from Weston Jesuit School of Theology in 2000. Before pursuing
ministry work, Stephanie volunteered at Providence House, a shelter
for homeless women and children in New Rochelle, NY and taught 6th
graders math, science, and religion at St. Francis of Assisi Elementary
School in Brooklyn, NY. Raised Methodist in her childhood, Stephanie
was received into the Roman Catholic Church on April 6, 1996 at St. Francis Xavier parish in New York, NY. Stephanie coordinates the START 2, Senior Retreat, Spare Change, and SEARCH Retreat programs at Assumption and advises Campus Ministry's
Core Team of student leaders. Stephanie's passions
include heightening awareness among students about the Catholic Church's
commitment to social justice and exposing students to the richness of Ignatian spirituality. Stephanie and her husband, Tony, live in West Brookfield, MA, where they enjoy welcoming others into their home. In her free time, Stephanie enjoys photography, travel, reading,
music, and exploring the outdoors in New England. Contact

Barbara Morris - Administrative Secretary |
Barbara
Morris started working at Assumption College in 1989 as the Coordinator
of Undergraduate Records in the Registrar’s Office. In 1997
she became the Assistant to the Registrar working with the Continuing
Education and Graduate Divisions of the College. On May 16, 2005
she became the Administrative Secretary in the Campus Ministry
office. Barbara is married to Gary Morris and they have two sons,
James a 1993 graduate of Assumption and Gary a 1995 graduate of
Assumption. They have two granddaughters, Alexis and Adriana.
Barbara enjoys spending time with her grandchildren, cooking,
knitting and power walking. Contact

Jane Shivick- Associate Director of Music

Soprano
Jane Shivick has held the position of Associate Minister of Music
at Assumption College since 2001. She is currently the Director
of Chapel Choirs
and the College cantor. Ms. Shivick, as a National Winner in the
renowned Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions, was awarded
a debut performance and NPR broadcast with the Metropolitan Opera
Orchestra under the direction of Sir Charles Mackerras. She has
attended the Aspen Music School and was a member of the Aspen Opera
Theater Center. Ms. Shivick is a frequent recitalist and oratorio
soloist and has performed such works as the Brahms Requiem, Verdi
Requiem, Handel's Messiah, Beethoven's Ninth Symphony, Dvorak's
Stabat Mater, Bruckner's Te Deum, and Schubert's Mass in Aflat.
She recently performed a WCRB Classical Concert on the Esplanade
(Boston 102.5 FM) with the New Philharmonia Orchestra. She has been
a featured soloist with the Rhode Island Civic Chorale, Heritage
Chorale, Boston Civic Symphony, Symphony Pro Musica, and the Indian
Hill Symphony. In addition, Ms. Shivick has taught privately
for 14 years in her own studio as well as in collaboration with
the Auburn and Wachusett Regional High Schools, and Holy Name Central
Catholic High School where she has been awarded Alumna of the Year
and was recently inducted into the school's Hall of Fame. She has
also taught voice as an adjunct faculty member at Clark University.
Ms. Shivick has served as an adjudicator for the Central Massachusetts
District Choral Auditions and has conducted Vocal Workshops for
area choruses as well as the Worcester Chapter American Guild of
Organists. She previously served as the Director of Music/Choir
Director at the First Baptist Church in Holden, MA. Contact
