About the D’Alzon Arts Series
Since the fall of 2000,
the Library has presented the
D'Alzon Arts Series. Each academic year there are monthly poetry
readings
and several art exhibitions, all free and open to the public.
Conceived
as a complement to the Assumption College HumanArts Series, which
features
concerts, readings and lectures by nationally and internationally
renowned
musicians and authors, the D'Alzon Arts Series celebrates the work of
local or
regional artists and poets, often featuring Assumption students and
faculty.
Recently featured artists
have included Nancy Flanagan,
Arnie Edinburg, Barry Hanshaw, Judith Ferrara, John Gaumond, Lora
Brueck, Elizabeth
Meyersohn and Sara Frankel. Poets have included David Thoreen,
John
Hodgen, Jonathan Blake, Gertrude Halstead, Jim Beschta, Robert Cording
and Gray
Jacobik.
