FESTIVAL CHOIR

The Festival Choir is comprised of 30-40 members which include faculty, staff, Alumni, friends of the college, Continsuing Education students, and members of the Worcester and surrounding area communities who sing in area choruses and worship regularly in the Chapel. The Festival Choir provides music for special liturgical celebrations including the Christmas Eve and Easter Vigil Masses during the academic year.

Section leaders are provided for all voice parts and repertoire is traditional. Festival Choir members include professional choral singers as well as all levels of musical talent.

No audition is necessary.

During my time with the 10AM and Festival Choirs, I have learned a great deal about singing and have made many good friends. More importantly, I have had the opportunity to contribute to the faith community of my alma mater in a very meaningful way. Often, as I am sitting in the Chapel waiting to sing, I think about my years at Assumption College, and I look at the altar, where my wife, Aimee Jacques Brunelle ('73) and I were married, and where our two daughters were baptized. This is a very special place, and I am happy to be able to do my sMall part to worship the Lord here. I urge anyone who likes to sing to join us. The demands are few, and the rewards are many.

Have you have ever felt really, really satisfied when you finally accomplish what you’ve been working on ? or felt “goose bumps” while listening to or singing great music ?? -- then you’ll know what I often feel when I sing in the Festival Choir. Jane has a gift of being able to coax from her singers beautiful choral music, which often moves both congregation and Choir members. Membership

Membership in the Assumption College 10AM and Festival Choirs is open to anyone in the Assumption College community including Alumni, friends of the college, undergraduate and graduate students, staff and faculty. There is on-going enrollment in which members can join the Choir at various times during each semester. Please eMail jshivick@assumption.edu if you are interested in attending an upcoming rehearsal.
