Student Affairs

A Message from the Vice President

The Division of Student Affairs provides students with opportunities to participate in a high quality cocurricular life that supports Assumption’s academic mission.

Assumption’s Culture

Assumption’s unique campus culture offers interdisciplinary and cocurricular connections that enhance intellectual, social, and spiritual dimensions of campus life. Assumption prides itself on being a caring and compassionate community. Faculty and staff provide a consistent presence on campus and are generous with their personal attention to students. We want our students to succeed, and acknowledge the complex transition from adolescence to young adulthood.

Students embark on their college career at Assumption with a specific set of ideas and expectations and become members of a learning community that is fundamentally different from any other life experience. Over the course of their college experience, they learn and acquire a set of life skills as they live with their peers, collaborate on group projects, and form friendships that last a lifetime.

Student Affairs Guiding Principles

This philosophy of educating the whole person is the hallmark of student life at Assumption.. I am proud to lead a division of professional staff who are dedicated to our students and passionate about their work as student affairs practitioners. We plan and implement programs around a core set of principles to help Assumption students achieve their full personal and academic potential. The bell tower in front of the Chapel of the Holy Spirit has five bells that ring clearly across campus. Our five principles do the same, which is why we chose the bell tower to represent those principles.

As a Catholic college, we are very clear about our identity..Our College Conduct Code helps provide a framework for that transition and is overseen by our Office of Student Conduct to ensure that all of our students are able to make the most of their college years in a safe, supportive and intellectually honest environment.

We are committed to the young women and men who come to Assumption College and look forward to helping them grow during their time here.

Sincerely,

Catherine WoodBrooks, Ph.D.

Vice President
