General Facility Use Policies:

  1. Workout footwear - all members must carry their workout footwear into the facility and change into them prior to work-out.
  2. Proper athletic shoes or sneakers are required. No black-soled shoes are permitted on playing surfaces except court shoes equipped with non-marking soles.
  3. All Fitness Center users must wear shirts and athletic shoes when in the facility. This includes the gymnasium.
  4. Personal articles may not be kept in activity areas or hallways.
  5. Pets and bicycles are not allowed in any part of the Plourde Recreation Center.
  6. Use of tobacco in any form is not allowed in the center.
  7. Eating and/or drinking are permitted, only in designated areas.
  8. Radios are not allowed unless used with headset.
  9. Participants are responsible for any damage to the facility. All damages must be reported immediately to the building supervisor.
  10. All injuries should be reported immediately to the building supervisor.
  11. Lost and Found items can be claimed and/or turned in at the Campus Recreation Office.
  12. The Campus Recreation Staff reserves the right to revoke privileges for misuse of the facilities and/or regulations. This includes, but is not limited to verbal abuse, harassment, and fighting.
  13. RACQUETBALL COURTS RESERVATIONS: Racquetball courts are available on first come, first serve basis. If people are waiting to play, please limit play to one hour.
  14. Facility users under the age of 18 will not be permitted to uses any free weights, weight machines, cardio equipment, or other fitness equipment without permision from the Campus Recreation Department.

Membership

The Campus Recreation Office offers Plourde Recreation memberships for the year or by the semester. The following types of Plourde Recreation Center memberships are available:

  • Alumni & Spouse
  • Faculty, Staff and Administration Family Member
  • Continuing Education Students
  • Part-time Students
  • Graduate Students

Membership Pricing:

  • Semester Memberships:
    • September - December: $125.00 per person
    • January - May: $125.00 per person
    • May - August: $125.00 per person
  • Annual Membership:
    • September - August: $325.00 per person

*Pro-rated Memberships are available

Member Rules and Regulations:

  1. Members of the Center may bring one guest per day for a $5.00 fee. Members must fill out a guest registration form at the control desk and the guest must sign the waiver.
  2. The first priority for use and scheduling of the Plourde Recreation Center will be Intramurals and Open Recreation for Assumption College students, administrators, faculty and staff.
  3. All members will be responsible for knowing and adhering to all rules and regulations pertaining to the Plourde Recreation Center.
  4. Men's and Women's shower and locker facilities are available on a daily basis. No locks may be left overnight.

Guest Policy

Staff, Faculty, and Administration guests are charged $5.00/per family per day.

All other guests, including undergraduate students, graduate students, alumni and members are charged $5.00/per guest per day.

Facility Reservation

If you are a student group associated with Assumption College and you would like to reserve the facility or any part of, please fill out the facility reservation form and hand it in to the Campus Recreation Office. The Office will contact you to confirm your reservation. If you have any questions, call our office at (508) 767-7072.
